Johanna’s Pick: Pepperoni-Pesto Popovers

It's wonderful when you find out three things you love are even better when combined, like with these Pepperoni-Pesto Popovers!

When I tried this recipe, I found out that pepperoni+pesto+popovers are just that. As a bonus, the recipe is super easy to follow and fast to make. Enjoy!

Beth’s Pick: Devastating Explosions

Who doesn't like making things explode? When you're having a bad day, a few rounds of blowing things up on Old Spice’s Devastating Explosions can make everything better. At least temporarily.

Jordan’s Pick: Hikikomori: Japanese Social Phenomena of Shut-ins

"Shutting Themselves In," from the New York Times, is a read for older teens and young adults. This article is one of the most fascinating I’ve read in a while. It is the story of the Hikikomori, a social phenomena/group of Japanese young men and (a few) women who stay shut in their rooms for up to years at a time.

As an American Studies major, I’m fascinated by cultures and particularly the differences between cultures and how they shape human experience around the world. When those differences in culture lead to geographically unique social phenomena—say, eating disorders in the United States, or foot binding in China—it offers a fascinating window into the effects culture can have on the mind and, ultimately, on the behavior of humans.
